With tough competition in the area all vying for business, Gebrüder Derksen wanted to improve customer loyalty by unlocking the power of media on their Emmerich-Ost site. This would allow them to differentiate themselves with multimedia, creating a sense of theater on the forecourt, as well as promoting a wide range of products and services on site alongside their loyalty programme to improve customer retention. Many customers simply stop at a retail forecourt to refuel, so enticing them to take advantage of other offers can be difficult. Yet, given that the average motorist spends three to four minutes refuelling, it’s a perfect time to draw their attention away from the fuel meter to promotions and offers from inside the convenience store. For Gebrüder Derksen, the answer to generating store traffic and loyalty programme registrations was T-Media™ by Dover Fueling Solutions®. Z Energy (Z) – previously known as Shell Global – has the largest service station network in New Zealand and is a customer of PES. In 2019, Z decided to reline their underground tanks, and needed to have new and accurate strapping charts, which is when they decided to approach PES. PES was happy to help by offering a tank scanning service using the ProGauge 3D Laser Scan Automatic Tank Calibration. The process has been very simple and efficient - PES starts by hiring the ProGauge 3D Laser Scan from DFS and later provides training to contractors who then carry out the scanning process for customers like Z. Once the scans have been processed, the contractors are able to complete the calibration on the tank gauging and form new dipsticks. To date, PES have helped process 50 scans for Z in collaboration with trained and experienced contractors, thanks to the 3D Laser Scan, which has proven to bring great benefits and results. As of recently, PES decided to invest in a new 3D Laser Scanner from ProGauge. The main factors for such investment were the age of the existing 3D Laser Scan, but also the rise of interest from other customers who have been looking to carry out recalibration on older tanks. As a result of this investment, PES is hoping to support more customers and make an even greater use of the 3D Laser Scanner from ProGauge. “The 3D Laser Scan is the most effective method to calibrate a tank gauge. A well-calibrated tank gauge benefits forecourt owners by providing accurate, on-demand stock readings. If the tank gauge is poorly calibrated, it may result in fuel losses going unnoticed, which could ultimately impact the profitability of the business. One of the main advantages of using the ProGauge 3D Laser Scan is that it's able to operate in a hazardous environment, such as underground petroleum tanks.
