  • Dover Fueling Solutions® Partners with ICASA and TSG to Launch DX Power™ in Europe

AUSTIN, TEXAS – April 17, 2023 – Dover Fueling Solutions® (DFS), a part of Dover Corporation and a leading global provider of advanced customer-focused technologies, services and solutions in the fuel and convenience retail industry, is proud to announce its partnership with ICASA Energy Solutions (ICASA) and Technical Services Group (TSG), to offer DX Power™, DFS’ seamless electric vehicle (EV) payment solution, in Europe. DFS and ICASA, a major player in integrated, end-to-end cloud solutions for the management of energy activities, established a strategic partnership after years of successful and intensive cooperation. In conjunction with Prizma, DFS’ connected mobility and convenience hub, and the integrated ICASA solution, DX Power™ can provide station operators with improved visibility and control over all EV transactions and offer flexible payment options. “The success of the initial launch of DX Power™ in Europe has exceeded our expectations,” said Raf Tormans, Senior Manager, Product Management, DFS. “DX Power™ makes it possible for EV chargers to be included in transactions through the point of sale (POS) system and the outdoor payment terminal. This enables customers to pay for EV charging with cash, as well as a traditional bank card, local account and fleet card.” “The complexity and the biggest challenge of public EV charging lies in the identification and authentication of the EV driver,” Steve Vandermeeren, COO/CTO of ICASA, explains. “The partnership with Dover Fueling Solutions® and the successful integration with DX Power allows us to authorize EV charging sessions via both fleet card and bank card, not requiring any subscriptions and providing EV drivers with the freedom to charge anywhere.” As part of the DFS and ICASA partnership, the two companies completed a successful DX Power™ pilot program using TSG, the European leader in technical services for responsible mobility solutions. The pilot program was conducted at an AVIA VOLT site in Enschede, Netherlands and made possible due to the high level of cooperation from AVIA VOLT’s fully working service station. Through the pilot program, DX Power™ successfully bridged the gap between EV chargers and the remaining AVIA VOLT forecourt system, helping to streamline the site and provide a frictionless customer journey. The ability to connect EV chargers to Prizma marks a new milestone for the DFS and TSG partnership in Europe. “DX Power™ will enrich the customer journey and stimulate electric mobility by offering all existing and new payment methods while giving fuel retailers a clear insight on costs before and after the EV charging transaction,” said Tommy van der Sluijs, Business Development Manager EV, TSG Charge. “Only an intensive and successful cooperation between DFS, ICASA, and TSG could have led to this successful result.” DX Power™ is compliant with applicable European Union regulations and industry standards. With the completion of the pilot program, DX Power™ will expand in Europe over the coming months. • Dover Fueling Solutions® Unveils Second Annual Future of Fueling Report

Report finds half of consumers are likely to switch fuel stations for significantly enhanced customer experience; more than half notice advertisements on or around the fuel pump, with almost one-third convinced to enter c-stores as a result. AUSTIN, TX – October 3, 2023 – Today, Dover Fueling Solutions® (DFS), part of Dover Corporation and a leading global provider of advanced customer-focused technologies, services and solutions in the fuel and convenience retail industry, released its second annual Future of Fueling Report. The report explores how consumers' elevated expectations are impacting the fuel and convenience retail sector while investigating the ways cutting-edge innovation can secure customer loyalty. "In the ever-evolving landscape of fueling and convenience retail, competition continues to grow. Understanding consumer expectations and preferences has become critical to a retailer's success," said Kendra Keller, Vice President and General Manager, North America at Dover Fueling Solutions®. "We developed the second annual Future of Fueling Report to uncover the experiences consumers desire, ensuring that we can best support DFS customers with innovative technology, products and solutions that will help them win over new customers and retain frequent fuelers." The insights gleaned from the Future of Fueling Report reveal five key trends shaping consumer behavior and preference and how fuel and convenience retailers can leverage these insights to enhance it: The Impact of Experience: DFS found that 50% of consumers will likely switch fuel stations if a competitor offers a significantly enhanced customer experience. Data from younger consumers indicates they might be willing to drive further for high-quality service. While location and price remain critical to consumer choice, these findings illustrate stand-out customer experiences as a differentiator for fueling and convenience stores. From Dispenser Media to the C-Store: Over half (51%) of consumers notice advertisements on or around the fuel pump, with close to one-third (32%) saying fuel pump commercials and ads have convinced them to enter a convenience store. That number is higher for younger generations, with nearly half (46%) of Gen Z and millennial consumers citing they are more likely to be swayed into a c-store based on ads shown on or around the pump. Based on these findings, fueling retailers should view their dispensers as prime real estate for displaying media and advertisements. Perceptions of Self-Service Solutions: More than 40% of all consumers are likely to use self-ordering technology for their c-store food and drink purchases. That percentage is higher for younger generations, with Gen Z (57%) and millennials (59%) much keener to do so than Gen Xers (45%) and baby boomers (30%). This enthusiasm sets the stage for fuel stations to forge partnerships with cutting-edge technology providers, enabling them to deliver fast and convenient experiences. Growing Payment Security Concerns: Protecting consumers’ payment data should remain a top priority for all fueling retailers. For the second year in a row, consumers ranked payment security (79%) and speed (73%) as the most valued features. Fuel station owners have a significant opportunity to ease payment concerns, educate consumers on payment security protocols and implement the latest payment and security technologies to attract new customers and retain frequent fuelers. Future Fueling Predictions: Consumers aren’t picturing an unrealistic technology overhaul at gas stations — simply an improvement on their current experiences. Many consumers envision greater convenience while refueling, such as having options for an email or text receipt, a more automated fueling process, and smart pumps that know their preferences without asking. Finally, some consumers believe technology can support gas station features that suit various individuals, abilities and needs. “With 50% of consumers likely to switch gas stations, delivering exceptional customer experiences is key in retaining and growing your market share, and the Future of Fueling Report has unveiled promising insights into how this can be actioned,” said Scott Negley, Senior Director, Product Management at Dover Fueling Solutions. “By combining crucial services with emerging trends like self-service, advanced payments and tailored pump experiences, retailers can provide the reliable, quick and convenient experiences today's consumers desire.” DFS surveyed 1,003 consumers in July 2023 to understand the sentiment around the current and future state of gas stations and convenience stores. All respondents were based in the U.S. and represented a sample that reflects U.S. census data regarding age and gender identity. Click here to read and access the full Future of Fueling Report.

  • Dover Fueling Solutions® Supplies LIQAL BTU System to LC3 Trasporti in Italy

AUSTIN, TEXAS – October 26, 2023 – Dover Fueling Solutions® (DFS), a part of Dover Corporation and a leading global provider of advanced customer-focused technologies, services and solutions in the fuel and convenience retail industry, is proud to announce the successful installation of the LIQAL Boil-off Gas Treatment Unit (BTU) system for LC3 Trasporti – the first refueling station in Italy that combines both Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and Nitrogen and the first to be able to provide 100% Bio-LNG, not in blended form. LC3 had to address various challenges including high pressure inside the LNG tank, due to boil-off gas (BOG), and inefficient refueling of LNG trucks. The installation of the LIQAL BTU system – which is situated on a private site supporting up to 160 trucks – mitigates such issues, enabling LC3 to provide a unified LNG and bio-LNG refueling experience at its Piacenza station. The new LIQAL BTU system, installed and commissioned by SGIG, ensures that tank pressure is under control and stable so truck drivers can refuel their LNG vehicle smoothly and consistently. Michele Ambrogi, President of LC3 Trasporti, stated: "We have eliminated the potential risk of direct methane emissions into the atmosphere through this groundbreaking solution implemented at our LNG and Bio-LNG refueling station in Piacenza. With the LIQAL BTU system, we've addressed the inefficiencies that we had previously encountered and that were exacerbated over time by climate change, significantly improving our refueling capacity and the dispensing quality of the facility. With a fleet of LNG and Bio-LNG-powered vehicles covering over 15,000,000 kilometers annually, enhancing refueling performance has always been a top priority for us, along with maximizing the use of biomethane and the related reduction of any potential environmental impact resulting from our operations. In this specific case as well, LC3 has set a new precedent, reaffirming our position as pioneers in decarbonization in the heavy transport sector in Italy." The LIQAL BTU system provides an environment conditioned for the storage of LNG, meaning it can be safely stored for an extended amount of time. As a modular and fully stand-alone unit, the LIQAL BTU system removes the need for any active management of storage pressure, eliminating the need for LIN consumption and logistics, while maximizing the LNG storage capacity for optimal delivery of LNG fuel to the Piacenza station. In addition, the LIQAL BTU system protects the environment by preventing the venting of BOG into the atmosphere. “LC3 is the first Italian company gaining experience with our automated and TCO-effective BTU system, and we are very pleased with the positive feedback on its deployment. The LIQAL BTU solution re-liquefies the BOG at its LNG refueling station, ensuring extended holding time of the LNG inside the storage tank, helping significantly improve LNG fuel performance, and enabling 100% Bio-LNG to now be delivered to the trucks,” said Joost Jansen, Business Development Manager, LIQAL.
